How do I get my samples to the lab?
Often getting your samples to the lab can be a lengthy process of taking the sample, labelling it with your details and site specific information, then having to go to your local Agronomist/Farm dealer so that they can fill out more forms, bag it then send it. This could take 2 or 3 days in some cases. With FarmLab, all you have to do is scan the barcode on your sample bag or, if you don’t have barcodes, write the barcode on the sample bag provided by the app. Then place the bag in a postal satchel and write the delivery address of the lab provided following the payment screen in the sample hub – then drop it in the post.
How is my data stored? Is it secure?
We take your privacy seriously. Your personal information (provided to us during registration, on going customer service and result reporting) is stored on secure, password protected servers, which are located in restricted access areas. We comply with the Australian Farmers Federation Farm Data Code.

I have questions on how to interpret my results, can you help?
In order to ensure you get the lowest cost soil tests, we do not offer interpretations or recommendations. On top of this, soils can be very regionally diverse so we prefer you work with your local agronomist to get the best outcome for your land. We will however provide you with the best soil data possible to help you.
What makes FarmLab different to the other testing companies?
FarmLab is based on the foundation of “Sampling made easy”. Taking your samples and getting the results should not be a difficult or lengthy process which is why we developed the FarmLab App. The whole process for you is paperless, giving you access your data, whether you are in the office or in the paddock. Since we began, we have worked hard to develop relationships with experts in the field (soil scientists, farmers and agribusinesses) to ensure that we are bringing you the best opportunities for soil, plant and water health and improvement. The founders at FarmLab are passionate about sustainable soil management and much of the original business development was spent ‘on the ground’ with land owners and managers to find out what we could do for them and asking them what they thought was missing from their current soil tests. This has given us a unique insight to the process and allows for a simpler, streamlined test and results schedule.

What happens after I send my sample to the lab?
The Lab will receive your sample/s, then perform the required testing. You will be notified via the app when the lab has received your sample/s. Once complete, the app will notify you that your results are ready. You can read and interpret them straight from your mobile phone.
What happens if there is an error in my results? / If I think that there is an error?
If you think that there is an issue with your results or there is an error/problem with how the data presents or downloads, please do not hesitate to contact us. In the App, go the ‘Get Help’ section and fill out the form, call us on (02) 9052 4924 and email at info@getfarmlab.com
How long should it take for me to get my results?
There can be various things that impact the processing time. These might be impacted on where you live in relation to the lab, how many tests are required and the postal and freight service you used to deliver the samples. Generally, EAL aim to report results within three to four working days for agricultural samples and ten working days for general soil use samples; however sometimes the Lab will receive numerous testing requests at the same time and this may result in a processing backlog. If this happens, FarmLab will do everything we can to follow up your test within a reasonable time frame.
How will my results be presented?
Results are displayed against each sample in the app. To view a result, click on the ‘completed’ menu option in the left hand menu. You’ll be able to scroll through each result, and add your own comments to the bottom of each. If you need to export these to share with a client, or other software, simply select ‘send results’ and enter an email address to send them to.
When should I get my soil tested?
Each situation is different – when was the last time your soil was tested? What were the results and what actions did you take in response? We recommend getting advice from your agronomist in order to help make this decision.
